Quinta dos Vales’ Dialog Red 2018 is the big winner of the Algarve Wine Commission’s XVI Algarve Wine Competition.
Dialog Red 2018, produced by Quinta dos Vales in Estômbar, was crowned the big winner of the XVI Algarve Wine Competition.
The results were announced on Friday 31 May during a ceremony held at the Pestana Vale da Pinta Clubhouse, bringing together various producers and entities from the sector.
The competition, which took place on May 24 at the Convento de São José in Lagoa, was organised by the Algarve Wine Commission (CVA) with the support of the municipality of Lagoa.
The CVA was in charge of the technical direction of the competition, ensuring a rigorous assessment of the participating wines.
In this edition, 117 Algarve wines were tasted, covering the white, rosé and red categories, representing 32 producers from the region.
Of the wines submitted, 38 received honours: 27 Silver medals, 10 Gold medals and one Grand Gold medal, awarded to Dialog Tinto 2018.
The main aim of the Algarve Wine Competition is to honour the region’s best bottled wines, encouraging the production of high-quality wines and promoting the excellence of Algarve wine products.
The CVA would like to thank all the producers and judges for their participation, as well as the municipality of Lagoa for its essential collaboration in organising the event.
This recognition highlights the continued growth and improvement of winegrowing in the Algarve, reaffirming the region as an important centre for the production of quality wines in Portugal.
